The holidays are upon us! We look forward to the spirit of the season and the rituals of celebration. The way we celebrate has certainly changed over the course of this year! While some traditions (old and new) involve more personal interaction than others, for people with hearing loss, the anticipation of meeting people in a small group, one-on-one, or online can cause worry about being able to hear clearly and participate fully.

If you have hearing loss, it can be difficult to attend a gathering or talk to celebrating coworkers online unless you’ve opened up about your hearing loss and taken steps towards improved communications. Fund-A-Child Match Challenge 2020

Fund-A-Child Match Challenge 2020

Last year, our Fund-A-Child Program provided 156 children with 619 intensive speech therapy sessions! Through these sessions, all of our young patients gained the language skills needed to succeed at home, at school, and in all other areas of the community. Without Fund-A-Child, it is likely that 95 percent of these children would have been unable to receive speech therapy services due to lack of finances. 

This year, we have the opportunity to help even more children in-need! Thanks to the generosity of the Jessie Ball duPont Fund, the Joseph and Gertrude Larose Foundation, and generous donor Gretchen  Swinson, we have the opportunity to match up to $37,500 for our Fund-A-Child Program! 

This means that, for every dollar that you give, your impact will be doubled!

GivingTuesday 2020

Support JSHC This #GivingTuesday (December 1)!

On Tuesday, December 1, the Jacksonville Speech & Hearing Center will participate in #GivingTuesday2020, a global day dedicated to giving. This year, our goal is to raise $15,000—funds that will enable us to provide 428 people in our community with speech and hearing screenings. These screenings will provide the basis for individuals with speech, language, and hearing needs to receive the essential care that they require in order to effectively communicate.

And, thanks to generous match dollars from the Jessie Ball duPont Fund, you have the opportunity to DOUBLE your impact when you donate here! 

Additionally, if 200 donors specifically give on #GivingTuesday (Tuesday, December 1st), we’ll receive $25,000 in bonus funds for our patients! Every gift will help us reach this goal, so please consider the fact that your gift could be the one that provides our patients with $25,000 more worth of care! For $50, each guest will receive a professional makeup tutorial and bottomless Moscow mules!
