Sara Miers, Au.D., CCC-A
Dr. Miers graduated with a B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Mississippi, before earning her Doctorate of Audiology from the University of Memphis. Dr. Miers is a board-certified audiologist and holds her Certification of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Dr. Miers has extensive experience in diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology with both pediatrics and adults, with an emphasis on hearing aid management. She believes in a holistic approach to patient care that not only emphasizes hearing healthcare, but overall well-being. Her ultimate goal is to serve as an advocate for her patients and their families.
Fun Fact: In her free time, Dr. Miers and her husband enjoy spending time in the outdoors with their dog named Rosie. Dr. Miers welcomed Jacksonville Speech and Hearing Center’s first honorary junior team member Henry in August 2020.
Lauren Blunk, M.Ed., SLP-CCC
Lauren Blunk is a Clinical Fellow Speech-Language Pathologist with past clinical experience with outpatient rehabilitation and therapy within the public school setting. Lauren joined the JSHC Team in February 2020. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Science and Disorders in 2016 from Florida State University and additionally completed an interdepartmental Developmental Disabilities Certification. She is also a proud alumna of Alpha Phi sorority where she participated in numerous fundraisers for Women’s Heart Health. She received her Masters of Education Degree in Communication Disorders in 2019 where she was a Graduate Assistant at Valdosta State University in Georgia. Lauren enjoys serving all populations from children to adults.
Fun Facts: Lauren is very family-oriented and enjoys traveling, hiking and going to the movies. She likes to spend her extra time with Cali, her Wheaten Terrier and Pippa, her Whoodle. She was born and raised in the State of Florida and has a younger sister who is following in her footsteps and completing her Masters degree to also become an SLP. She hopes they will one day be able to work together.
